2025 GIFT GUIDE: Kids
As my kids get older I find it both easier and harder to find gifts I know they’ll love. It’s easier to know what type of toys they will like because they have developed their own preferences and interests, but it’s harder to know which toys do they love now that they will also love later on. This year we are doing one big gift and one small gift for each child. The big gift is something that they have been wanting for a while and the small gift will be something they added to their Christmas list recently. Overall, here are a list of things we own and love and STILL love a year later.
Two card games that we love are Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza and Sleeping Queens. Sleeping Queens was invented by a kid and it’s my girls’ favorite game by far.
These Staplestein stepping stones are a new addition to our home after having them on my own personal wishlist for over a year. I heard a lot of great things about them, but knew it would be an investment to get. Once we were able to gift these to the kids, they took off with them! They add so much value to play because they are durable and offer so many creative ways to play with them. I’d say this is the #1 toy of 2025. It works indoors, outdoors, in rain and snow, and has been turned into obstacle courses, hats, animal homes, etc. Instead of buying one-off toys like an animal that comes in a plastic home, I love have these as a tool that expands their creativity to make a home plus so much more!
We got a real tool set for my oldest daughter two years ago and it’s been so great to have. I’m a DIY kind of gal, so whenever I’m working on something, she pulls out her tool set to help me.
I got these gingham matching pajamas for the kids last year and the kids loved how cozy they are. Some amazon clothes don’t last very long, but these are still well worn and loved by all three of my kiddos.
This Little Golden Books Christmas set is a classic and so fun to read before bedtime.
The classic skip it was one of my favorite toys as a kid and now it’s the one thing my daughter is asking for this Christmas. We have purchased plastic ones that have broken pretty easily in the past, but I think this one will last much longer.
This Fat Brain Toys Air Toobz looks like so much fun! You can take it a part and put it back together to create your own tracks for the balls to travel through. A hit for all ages!
I get asked all the time if getting a Yoto Player is worth it and my answer is 100x yes! Once you show your child how to use it and have a few stories on hand for them to pick from, this is a great tool to have as a screen-free alternative.
Another screen-free creative gift is this Camp Snap camera. I just ordered one myself to have for the holidays. I love how it captures a nostalgic vibe and gives your kids a chance to snap photos from their vantage point.
This wooden barn is just so beautiful and lovely. We have a plastic one that gets broken and put back together frequently. I think this one has a much longer shelf life.
A Vanity Stool is probably not on too many kids wishlists, but it’s a great idea for a gift that will last! Create a little corner of their room into a place they can get ready and store all of their beloved pieces. This one makes a statement and I love the colors.
Speaking of jewelry, my girls have tried quite a few a bracelet making kits and this Rainbow Loom tops them all.
Another toy they love so much is this Musical Jewelry Box. My girl store little treasures in theirs but they love to wind up the music and play the songs while they play dress up or dance.
Last, but certainly not least, is the EZ Roller. The kids love speeding around in these and it’s a great outdoor addition if they have bikes and want another fun gross motor challenge. It comes in a variety of colors.
